Meditation On Tara - A Guardian Figure

This is a guardian who has taken a human form. The guardian's true form is represented by the shapes and colors at the edge of the mandala - the light outlines the face. The human form was taken to reflect the image of the person meditating. The duller colors of purple and red are meant to distract the meditator from the goal which lies beyond the guardian.
